Don't waste time and money sending a poorly written manuscript to publishers, literary agents, or producers.
If it isn't in proper format, if the first page doesn't really grab them, and if it isn't virtually free of errors--they won't even read past the first page!
Make sure your work stands out from among the hundreds of other manuscripts lying on the Submissions Editor's desk.
Have it professionally evaluated first!
Below is an overview of the step-by-step procedure we follow when performing a manuscript evaluation:
- You send us a hard copy of your manuscript, along with your payment for the service.
- When we receive your manuscript and payment, we send you a statement for your records via e-mail, and begin working on your manuscript by line, editing the first few pages for free.
- Next, we annotate the manuscript as we continue to read--noting any particularly strong points, as well as any weak areas, right in the margins of the text.
- Finally, we prepare a detailed evaluation form that offers you additional valuable feedback.
When the critique is complete, we return your manuscript and critique to you via postal mail.
With our manuscript critique service, you will receive feedback on all of the following elements:
- Proper format
- Errors in punctuation, spelling, grammar & sentence structure
- Characterization
- Strength of storyline / plot
- Setting
- Imagery
- Word choice / tone
- Strength of themes
- Appropriateness of dialogue / dialect
- Appropriateness of point of view / narration
- How to strengthen weak areas
- How marketable your manuscript is based on current trends
- and more. . .
$1.00 per double spaced page
($50.00 minimum fee)
Many editing services charge by the hour. We charge by the page, so you know upfront how much the service will cost. All fee quotes are in US currency and are based on a total page count (every 250 words constitutes a page), rounded to the next full page.
